I love that this article started off addressing how there is a divide in audience acceptance of digital media. The article talks about bringing young people. However, in countries like America where government funding is a lot less than countries like France, Russia, and England, it is hard to ignore the older patrons who are usually more committed to seeing traditional theatre and have more money to give. This being said several national studies and local studies show that most people above the age of 65 will not go back to theatre’s post-pandemic for a while due to safety concerns so maybe converting older people to the digital theatre might be harder but might be better. I love the part of the article by Filipp Vulah who talks about how new roles will immerge and the art form will change with digitalization. This being said I wonder how quickly unions will catch up/that will more multi-media companies start popping up instead of new theatres. Frankly, I don’t think the unions will catch up but that is just my two sense. The major discussion in this article about aiding the audience experience is really important and I wonder if people will start bringing UX consultants to help to create frameworks for new digital seasons.
