Las Vegas Review-Journal: The force was strong with Nichole Madden.
The Australian tourist had withstood hordes of stormtroopers, fire-shooting monsters and sarcastic robots.
“That was so good,” Madden said outside the Grand Canal Shoppes’ newest attraction. “I’ve done VR before, but nothing to that extent.”
Madden and other select shoppers in the Strip shopping center have gotten an early look at virtual reality attraction “Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire.”

I have been a huge fan of Star Wars since I was a little kid, so to be able to fully immerse myself in the world would blow my mind. It sounds so cool! I liked the stories and the characters, but I also absolutely fell in love with the worlds of the movies. Adding the sensory experience to the VR can make it super real and elevate the experience to a whole new level. Now that I know this exists I have to go see it. Even though I have never done VR, I feel like I am seeing it more and more in different venues and art forms. Because VR is the marriage between video games and a live experience. It has the control of a video game, but the immersive element of an experience. I also think the interesting thing about VR, is the ability to render and create worlds that might be difficult or even impossible to build in real life.
This sounds like it would be a lot of fun. It is a fascinating way to engage customers with the name brand recognition of the property. The design of this attraction also sounds very interesting and a lot of fun. This is a clever idea that will be a new way for studios to squeeze more money out of people using the popularity of their properties. I am sure Marvel will look into doing something like this with the Avengers, HBO with Game of Thrones, Fox with Avatar, and Warner Brothers with the Justice League. This may also be something that video game companies can invest in, where they augment missions from their game for the fully immersive VR, so that players can get a more immersive experience. It would also allow video game developers to share their product with people who have not played it before, and may increase sales at home. Ultimately, this presents a big opportunity for content creators to share their creation with consumers in a unique and engaging way that is likely to be very successful.
