The Military Has Hired Hollywood To Help Build An Actual Iron Man Suit
io9.com: Since Tony Stark is unavailable to advise the military on its robotic exoskeleton project, officials have turned to the next best thing: the special effects team that made the Iron Man costume. For the sake of possibly of offending people, I will keep my opinions on the military to myself.
Instead, I choose to focus on the starting points made in this article about where the military is reaching out to the entertainment industry to design and build these prototypes. The entertainment industry is an interesting one. On more than one occasion, educators of mine in the world of theater have stressed this idea that while you may initially pursue a career in technical theater, even going so far as getting a degree for it, you may find yourself in an entirely different direction later on in life. However, these skills learned through theater will aid you in your new career path. I was always skeptical upon hearing this, until now. People on a Hollywood special effects team are now partnered with the military, utilizing the same skills put into practice in an entertaining way to go in a similar but entirely different path.
This peeks me curiosity to see all the directions a career in entertainment may take someone. Perhaps, more of it goes on than we are aware of. Regardless, this increases my desire to go into the theater world. As they say, the possibilities are endless.
