Review: The PUC Wireless MIDI interface for iOS, from Zivix
www.gizmag.com: iOS has matured as a music-making platform in recent years, but those of us who wish to hook-up a real MIDI controller such as a keyboard or drum machine to an iPad or iPhone generally need to use a couple of cables and adapters per device. It's a minor issue, but one that feels distinctly un-Apple. The PUC iOS MIDI interface by Zivix promises to free iOS music-makers from this hassle by enabling a MIDI controller to connect to an iOS device wirelessly.

MIDI music making has enabled the amateur musician in me, as well as many of my friends. MIDI typically requires us to bring our computers wherever we plan on playing or mixing, along with cables, turntables, pianos, the works. However, with the advent of smartphones, music-making on the go managed to get significantly more compact, whilst still requiring mountains of cable. The PUC interface appears to strike the balance between portability and usability very well, according to this review. Battery life may or may not be a problem, considering that even though you get around 15 hours per battery change, in this rechargeable battery age, it must become easy to forget to carry around an extra change of batteries, which could possibly lead to being left high and dry in the midst of an intense MIDI jam session. The lack of an Android connector is also disappointing, but some Android variation of this product is surely not far behind. Overall, the product seems well-made and something I could see myself buying in the future.
