Bosch Combination Saw GTM 12 JL Professional – German Innovation
Tools In Action - Power Tools and Gear: What do you get when you cross a table saw with a miter saw? The Bosch GTM 12 JL. Not available in the US, but I hope will be. The saw looks like it solves the issue of having to lug 2 saws arounds. For most pro and remodelers I am sure this tool will handle 90% of their work. Bosch is really stepping up its game lately with their release of their new EDC brushless line up.

Having a tool that can do more than one thing is always a plus. For example, if you have a job where you need both a miter and a table saw, think how much easier it would be to have just one tool. By looking at this tool I can see some draw backs, for starters the “table” of the saw looks very small. By having limited surface area to work with would make that job much harder when doing very accurate cuts. You can always set up more tables around the saw but that requires you to have more equipment, defeating the purpose of an all-in-one tool. I think the idea is very solid but I can see why this product is not being sold in the US. From the look of the picture I can see that there is parts of that blade that look very dangerous. Although it is covered with a guard, it still doesn’t look like it is protecting the blade well enough. With some minor improvements I would absolutely buy this product. There is a very big market for products like this and I can see it doing very well if it can meet the US safety standards.
