Bring It On: The Musical Will Kick Off National Tour in L.A. in the Fall

The little theatre snob that lives inside me cried out a little bit when I heard that this show was coming to the stage. Then I realized that it wasnt fair of me and was happy to read that the production team is such a power house. I am also happy to hear that there is a new script written. Because the first movie was not lacking in choreography but rather lacking in the plot department. So, I hope that I am wrong in my assumptions because these types of shows that are based off of popular movies will continue to pop up in order to draw crowds and make money. And it would be nice if they were actually good as well as entertaining.
The thing that I find amusing about this article is that it reminds me in someway of a straight to DVD movie. Usually shows go to Broadway before they tour, but "Bring it On" is heading straight to the tour. I have to admit, however embarrassing, that I did like the first movie. It is sort of a cult classic. A silly, fun movie that everyone secretly enjoyed. If people can bring themselves to go see this musical, it seems that the team may have actually turned it into an enjoyable musical. I hope that the team approached it with the knowledge of what made it so popular, and that they didn't take it too seriously.
