Hear! Hear!
Theatre Safety: "Ever have that funny ringing in your ears that just won't go away? Maybe feel like you can hardly hear anyone around you and you have to speak-up to be be heard? Maybe everyone thinks your audio mix sucks, but they won't tell you? It could be that you have suffered hearing damage. This can be very serious, as most damage is collectively irreversible - it just gets worse, and never gets better.

This article brings up a topic always worth reiterating because of how often it is seemingly ignored. It's great that we are careful about this in the shop here, but a lot of people I know could use reprimanding on the listening to music front: relatively few people wear earplugs to concerts, and turn up their headphones to a point where those around them can hear to what they're listening; as a rule of thumb, if you can't hear people around you speaking while listening to your music in headphones, you're listening too loudly.
Additionally of note, this article didn't mention the possible damage associated with sticking cue tips in your ears: only a doctor should put anything other than earplugs/ear buds into your ears.
