‘Spider-man’ opening may be delayed again

thestar.com: "The producers of Broadway’s “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” are considering delaying the musical’s opening night for a sixth time, people familiar with the deliberations say, to make more changes to the show in hopes of improving its worldwide commercial prospects after theatre critics savaged it this month.

First I'll give a moment of pretending to be surprised. Gosh, golly gee. Moving on. Sometimes thinking about Spiderman I think it's a celebration of mediocrity. The team doesn't want to open and say 'this thing everyone hates is the best we can come up with' and they know the appeal will be gone once it's open no matter what shape it's in. So the decision is to keep making the show into a world experience, a household name, rather than face the certain defeat of opening night. Limbo, I guess might be better than hell.
