I wonder if Spiderman spoofs will become the new it thing to do in smaller, less expensive venues. It seems like a good idea. The best way to spoof the thing would be to do it without much money. There are a zillion different directions for artists to take it. Good art often comes out of making fun of those who spend frivolously. I look forward to them.

I've seen things like Forbidden Broadway, which makes fun of basically all of the Broadway shows at once, but I haven't really heard of a full-on production which is intended solely to poke fun at another show. They've got a lot of material there, but I wonder how well it will sustain itself once the Spiderman sensation wears off. I can't see this becoming a trend, there's only so much you can make fun of, and it really relies on the quality of the writing and directing.
