I've read so many reviews of plays and musicals that haven't explained the basic premise of the story half so well as this article. I feel like although I don't know everything, I know enough about the story to be interested in seeing it. Many reviews seem to spend more time talking about the people in the production rather than what the show is actually about. I'm very interested in finding out more about this play, particularly about the title, which is a great title, but I'd really like to know how it relates to the plot as a whole.
“Love, Loss, and What I Wore…” sounds really appealing, particularly because I am a sucker for comedies depicting female issues, (yeah I know…). The monologues sound very Jane Martin-esque. I saw a production of her collection of monologues, “Talking With” last year at a high school, and I laughed so hard, and I also cried at several points. I really wish I could see this production. Although I wasn’t fond of productions consisting of monologues at one point, Jane Martin turned me over to that style, so this sounds really fun in my opinion, and will most likely be received well.
