There is something really magical about ballet. It is so light and technical, but at the same time holds such power and elegance. Modern dance can be similar, but the history that comes with ballet raises it to a level that modern dance cannot yet reach. Ballet was really a perfect fit to tell this story. It gives the story elegance while still keeping it light and airy, as a fairy tale should be told.

If this story was instead to be told through modern dance, an element would definitely be lost. I've been having a hard time trying to pin that down, but it has to do with the weight that ballet carries as an art form.

This article was definitely very supportive of the production, it put the production in a very attractive light. I'm looking forward to seeing the future productions of the PBT.

This sounds like a beautiful Ballet. From the people that went to see it in my class it did not seem like they liked it. I am a big fan of ballet though and the article makes it sound amazing. Also this year the Benedum Center is showing The Nutcracker and Swan Lake and I really want to go see those two shows. With a stage as large as the Benedums I think that both shows would be a great experience.
