First Night Riders Get Ready to Roll
PLSN: "Inspired by the Long Reach Long Riders, a group of theatrically-inclined bikers has formed in the U.K. to raise money for The Theatrical Guild, which offers support to those working backstage and in front of house."

this is a very inserting fund raiser that they are doing. it is great that they are doing for all of the people that work behind the curtain and work in the front of house. those are the people that are usually forgotten. this should be a get event. also it is get that the are planing ahead that this event will be done be for the big conference also this will be great that this is happing be for this event and it is great that it is a got jump start to this event. so this is a great event.
I think the fundraiser concept is interesting, but I'm not quite sure what motorcycles have to do with backstage and front-of-house theatrical employees... at any rate, I looked up the Theatrical Guild and it looks like a fantastic organization. They support theatre technicians and FOH staff for injury, cover pensions for retired workers, nursing costs, and small grants to one-parent families who can't work because they need to support their family. At any rate, I hope their ride is successful.
It's great to see this recognition for the people behind the scenes, especially since most of the support seem to be actors and actress. It's nice to see that for all we do to support them that they've turned around to support us. I cannot help but wonder though that by creating a "bike ride" it has limited the number of participants. For example, there could be a dozen more people who want to help but because of the activity just cannot and are forced to merely sign a check over which kind of takes the whole fun out of the event. I think they could have made it a little more accessible since it's the type of event where you want to get people off their asses and involved and get excited about doing it.
