It was astounding to hear that they closed because their finances compromised their artistic quality. Normally, I would expect reallocation of priority in order to try and drive through the recession. I cannot help but wonder if they closed the curtain too early. Could they not have perhaps cut their season down like the orchestra had down? It would not have been a proud moment but they will had least still had been bringing the community the service. In addition, why not re-imagine what your company can do to continue to serve the community with the arts during this hard time. I just wonder if they were so set in stone on their mission that they were not will to re-visualize their company. Granted, in this economy no one has the right to judge the decisions made.
