This will be an interesting conservatory hour. As someone who worked on the show, I asked quite a few people what they thought of this production. Generally, there are two extreme reactions: half love it, the other half think it wasn't at all worth seeing. There were many comments on the stark scenery, the directing, and especially the choice of script. I enjoyed the show, however, I can see how many people could have issues with it.
I really wish I would have been able to see this show. Hearing that it had such mixed reviews makes me wish I would have cleared more time to go see it. Hopefully I can make more time available for the rest of the shows this season.
I was SO impressed by Three Days of Rain. It was the best show I've seen in the school of drama since I came here. I spent the entire show completely engrossed in the characters and the story line. The scenic design was beautiful and worked well with the show. The sound worked completely and almost seemed like its own character.
I spent intermission talking to the director, and I am incredibly impressed with a number of her choices.
I really enjoyed THREE DAYS OF RAIN. It was nice to see such a nicely executed show on such a small budget--the scenic and lighting designs especially.
Like Michael, I also really found myself immersed in the characters. Something I think this show did well, is really support them in each scene, while still creating a visually interesting show.
Sort of upset I don't make more of an effort to get to to some of the conservatory hours this year. I think they were a valuable tool that started many of us towards constructive conversations about theater.
As for Three Days of Rain, I agree with Michael and think it was one of the better things I've seen here. Granted, in the beginning I had to work a little harder than I might have wanted in order to figure out who these characters were and what there stories were, but in the end I found that rewarding. I was very impressed with the collaboration of the scenic and lighting designer -- mucho props. I would also like to say that the brewing coffee gag as a sensory experience for the audience was beautiful and totally transported me in a way I don't think I've ever experienced in a theater production.

Congrats to the cast and crew!
