Post Gazette: "Forget 'Mad Men.' The '60s will live again on Broadway next spring in a revival of 'Promises, Promises,' the musical based on the Academy Award-winning movie 'The Apartment.'"
While this sounds like a very promising production with many talented people involved, it is still sad to me that almost every thing we see now was either once a movie or already a success on broadway. I am glad that shows are still being produced and that theater people are being employed I just hope that creativity works its way back to Broadway.
This trend of shows being revived is very interesting. It seems that we're getting a lot of the runoff from the 60's. Bye Bye Birdie, and now Finian's rainbow - I look forward to seeing more productions from this age being re-interpreted for the 21st century.
