This is such a compelling article because of its interview format, and from that I feel much more connected to the content and the statements that I am reading. It is also so interesting to read about the culture of theater from different parts of the world when I have a strictly American perspective. Hearing her describe the struggles of different languages in relation to her plays and the overall concept of contemporary plays and where we are headed is just so interesting. Even without all of these other implications, the more straightforward questions in the interview are just as riveting. Reading her descriptions of her works and how they reflect different points in her life only makes me want to go and see these plays more. In all of this beautiful work, it is a shame for things to get lost in translation. For that reason, I do hope that this article will also bring awareness to some of these issues that were discussed within the interview.
