Federal Court Denies Preliminary Injunction Against NEA's Gender Ideology Funding Ban

www.broadwayworld.com: The U.S. District Court in Rhode Island has denied a motion for preliminary injunctive relief filed by arts organizations seeking National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) funding. The court ruled that the NEA’s February 6 decision to disqualify projects that “promote” what the government defines as “gender ideology” likely violated the First Amendment and exceeded its statutory authority.

This is so stupid. This funding discrimination is so clearly a violation of the first amendment, to a degree it is almost laughable, but the courts are too scared to ‘interfere’ with the Trump administration. The government is willing to throw our constitutional rights out the window before it stands up to a growing dictatorship. The District Court of Rhode Island of all places was unable to sanctify our constitutional rights. Arts organizations are being subjected to rules that politicians are currently pulling out of their derrières and will have a very difficult, if not impossible, time fighting these rulings as it is not really something you can appeal, especially with the current government. These productions will now have to rely on corporate, private, and/or foreign donation in order to stay afloat, which brings its own problems and manipulations of free speech, or be forced to close and silence the voices of a vulnerable population. Unbelievable.
