Having a strong relationship with your usual service provider is extremely important and helpful, as seen with The Old Vic’s lighting team and their dynamic with their fixture provider, White Light. When it comes to using new equipment and combining it with existing ones, there are often unprecedented issues that present themselves during the initial weeks, so being able to source reliably is always going to be a good bet. The White Light company looks to have a good and reliable business. It's still surprising to me that 1970 was 50 years ago… always feels like only 30. This seems like it would be a nice company to intern with if you’re interested in lighting. Getting their start being the sole provider for a six year long production has got to be nice. 6 years of consistent and loyal business right when you’re building up your reputation and trying to start to turn a profit sounds so nice. I’m glad they were able to start so strong.
