"Alec Baldwin continues to increase my pain": Halyna Hutchins’ mom boycotts "Rust" premiere
Salon.com: Hutchins died three years ago when she was accidentally shot during the production of the Alec Baldwin-led western movie in New Mexico. Since then, Hutchins' mother, Olga Solovey, has sued the production and Baldwin for the death of her daughter and opted out of the premiere for the now-controversial movie.

It’s kind of jarring to think that the shooting was three years ago now. It’s even stranger to hear that the film is still getting released. It seems inconsiderate for Alec Baldwin, the producer, to do such a thing after he was directly involved in the death of a crew member. If nothing else, how could you watch the movie without constantly thinking about the accident? It’s another level to think that Baldwin pleaded guilty to manslaughter and that his trial was dismissed. It just doesn’t seem right to still go through with releasing the movie. Adding the words “For Halyna” doesn’t make things right. The whole thing is frustrating, and I hope the movie sees limited success for that reason. In any case, now that the film is getting released, it feels like this whole thing will begin to fade faster into obscurity. Hopefully it has left a lasting effect on movie sets and theaters around the country and the world, though, and this accident will be the last of its kind.
