Marshall mini cams perform for the Pink Floyd Experience
www.avinteractive.com
: As the 2021 Pink Floyd Experience tour readied to roll out across Australia and New Zealand, creative director for the event Craig Walsh was looking for high-quality, compact cameras to capture vibrant images of the performances. Walsh turned to pro AV equipment provider Corsair Solutions, and the team selected Marshall Electronics CV503 miniature cameras for the project.

These are really cool, and the images at the bottom of this article are nothing short of stunning. I wish they gave dimensions for the cameras in the article since they talk so much about how discreet and small they are; that really seems like the largest selling point of this particular model: the compact size with a really high-quality image. Nonetheless, I guess you just kind of have to assume that they are, in fact, pretty damn small, a conclusion which seems to be born out by the images, where I can't really figure out where the camera is based on the position of the performer and the perspective of the projected image. It seems like it should be right in front of the performer's face, but I just don't see it, which is really cool. Being able to do that live capture unobtrusively opens SO many doors, not just in live music, but in all sorts of live performance.
