Caveats and conditions: what to expect this autumn as UK theatres reopen
Theatre | The Guardian: It is late July, and Beverley Knight is about to sing her heart out on the London Palladium stage. Everyone in the audience wears masks and, around them, rows of empty seats are marked with an X. This is the first time a London theatre has opened its doors since March and it’s all a little surreal.

The UK is rapidly making steps toward reopening but they also have an R number of infection spread that is now above 1 (https://www.bbc.com/news/health-54116939). We may not be able to live in lockdown forever, but it should not come at the cost of people’s lives. The pandemic is terrible and has imposed major questions for every person on Earth. We may not be doing much day to day, but we have to make that choice. It also allows for us to have new perspectives on activities we used to be able to do everyday. I know I have really missed going to the movie theatre. I opted into being a remote student this semester. I miss being on a college campus. I know that I will return when it is safer to do so and I know the same will happen for the return of live theatre in the United States.
