Nomadic VR Brings Location-Based Arizona Sunshine Version to Orlando

Variety: Bay Area-based virtual reality (VR) startup Nomadic is getting ready to open up its first VR center in Orlando, Florida this fall. Nomadic is opening its first space at the Pointe Orlando mall with an adaptation of “Arizona Sunshine,” a zombie VR shooter that’s already popular on in-home VR systems as well as in VR arcades.

Personally, I am very excited to see how VR shapes the future. I think companies like Nomadic are going to undergo some very fast expansion as the virtual reality technology becomes more and more advanced. Like some other people, I have played the at-home versions of virtual reality “Star Wars” which creates an experience unlike no other. The total immersion into the world in which you are playing really creates an energetic environment that a television screen just can not provide. Using the example of Nomadic, I believe they really entered the arena in a clever way, by first setting up pop up shops to test the market and peoples interest, they had a proof of concept. Choosing Orlando, Florida as their first location was also quite strategic. With all of the international travel that goes through Orlando because of Disney World and Universal Studios, the location provides great exposure to people who are already in a spending money mindset that may just be looking for the next big thing in gaming,
