It is interesting in that the Chicago Federation of Musicians (AFM) Local #10-208 was briefly on strike but not a lot is available about what specific details the negotiation broke down on. It is even more interesting that all other unions, the Stagehands Local 2, Wardrobe Local 769, Make-Up Local 476, Ticket Sellers Local 750, AGMA and IATSE all reached deals with Chicago Lyric but AFM did not. This two pieces of information was basically the only useful information from the article. Since the circumstances are set up in a very interesting direction, I would love to read more about why the negotiation broke, how it resumed, whether the strike had any impact on the seasons and etc. This article was particularly interesting because I learned about the Broadway AFM strike in 2003. At the time, the strike lasted about 5 days, and majority of the shows had to go dark because other unions including AEA walked with AFM members. It was partially mediated by the mayor of NYC because it had such a huge impact on the economy.
