GUEST BLOG: A Day in the Life of a Broadway Publicist by Emily McGill
The Producer's Perspective: Ok, the title is a bit misleading as no two days are alike for a Broadway publicist, but a general idea of how we spend our time can be really helpful when you’re working with your rep or looking to get the word out about your own project.

I had never actually thought about what a Broadway Publicist was or thought that they even exist let alone what they do, so while reading this article I really learned a lot about a job in the industry I had no previous knowledge of. Reading this article made a lot of sense because when they mentioned all of the things that the public sees that the publicist works on behind the scenes, it was so obvious that of course there would be someone working on those things, like photo shoots, the playbill, and opening night events. I thought it was very useful to read her comments about how making connections is so important in this industry no matter what aspect of theatre you do. This is something I have been told over and over by so many people and hearing her talk about the actual implications of it and how having those connections actually play out was really helpful for me to see just how true it is that those connections are so necessary.
