TribLIVE: “The Mountaintop” is not your average play about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., says Peter Flynn.
Neither a documentary nor a retrospective biography, Katori Hall's drama is a historical fantasy that takes place in the civil-rights leader's motel room on the last night of his life.

I saw a production of this show in Houston at the alley theater. I had no idea what the premise of the the show was or how much of a different interpretation it had about the end of his life. The show was extremely media heavy to show the more surreal parts of the show, and the conclusion done in entirely narrated projection. I thought it was a very impressive production that worked very well.
