When I began this video, I assumed that the "soul" that the article referred to was in terms of music. However, I was surprised to see that this man from an indeterminable past (a self-proclaimed roboticist) was actually attempting to give these robots the human-like features that we would consider to be our soul. I was again surprised to see that he was also considering music and the ability of robots to recognize music and create it themselves. While I can concede that such an idea is rather interesting, watching these robots dance to the music was actually terrifying. Seeing these inhuman "creatures" dance to music next to actual humans gave the entire video this ironic overtone that I had trouble taking seriously. That being said, I would like to believe that Guy Hoffman's life is not an entire waste and that he will actually create robots that have "souls". If so, I would like to have a good time with some "soul" robots in the future.
