'Once' and 'Bring It On' Require Additional Skills From Actors

Theatre does expect quite a lot from its actors already, but the expansion of the range of expectations not surprising. In almost everthing, but especially in any form of media, the increasingly common trend is for more: more intensity, more realistic experiences, more excitement, more interesting and more engaging shows -- and the list goes on. Movies now offer 3D experiences and CGI effects have to look real, sound real, and feel real, in movies and even in video games -- now it looks like theatre is now bringing its own "more" campaign, formerly characterized by special effects and lighting or sound advances, into a different direction as well. Of course, these changes can't necessarily be called either good or bad, but it will be interseting to see where we go from here.
