Master Classes Focus On Spider-Man On Broadway

It is interesting that they are doing a master class on this show already. The show is not even open yet and they are planning on doing these class. They are saying that the Lighting designer will be critiquing their work in depth. I just feel that he will not have a good sense of what he has accomplished and reflect on it at that time. Not enough time and experience in this play to be used as an example. The show might still be in previews at that time if they continue to push back the opening which means that he could still be changing his design at that time. Innovation is key to this play and that may be the best for a master class. I would love to go to this class, none the less, because it would be interesting hearing form him regarding some of the designs decisions and changes that he had made. It also would be good to know if some of the lighting was designed and created because of the scenery designer or other department, wanting an effect.
I think this is an interesting show to use for the class because of how prolonged and complicated the process has been. I would like to hear about ht journey over the years in terms of the lighting design. But I do also worry that it's too soon to be able to analyze the effectiveness of the design and be able to talk about what he would have done differently. It would be really strange if they were still in previews at the time of the class, although maybe then he could talk about what his current right-this-moment decisions are and what his process will be to address them.
