Basic PTM - Critical Path

A student asks:

I was wondering if every group's machine has to end in pressing a button or if only the last group?

and then I say:

There doesn’t have to actually be a button for each group, but the final action for each group should be a motion that could press a button. Consequently the first action of each group should be something that is initiated by a motion that could be pushing a button.
