Off Broadway Ensembles Can Be Hits, With Limits

NYTimes.com: "For the third time this season, the Off Broadway theater Playwrights Horizons has received rave reviews for a production, “Clybourne Park,” and has added performances to meet audience demand. What Playwrights doesn’t have are tiny casts led by movie stars, the formula that many Broadway producers consider essential for a play to make money in an era of high ticket prices and stiff competition."
