Taymor gets lifetime achievement award
Variety: "Julie Taymor will receive New Dramatists' lifetime achievement award, presented by Helen Mirren, later this spring as part of the Gotham nonprofit's annual spring lunch."

I think that this award is well diserved. I mean, Juli Taymor did an amazing job with her work on Lion King and the multitude of plays that she has had her hand in. The ideas and work behind The Lion King changed the way that people look at theater and the way that the extrodinary can be conveyed and shown on a live stage with live actors.
