‘Boys in the Band’ Influenced Kushner and Other Playwrights
NYTimes.com: "MART CROWLEY’s play “The Boys in the Band” opened off Broadway on April 14, 1968, and instantly made theater history: It was, as Clive Barnes wrote in his review in The New York Times, “by far the frankest treatment of homosexuality I have ever seen on the stage.”"
