As a queer woman in theater, I always love to see other queer women thriving in the industry, especially in tech. I had never heard of SoundGirls so it was refreshing to see that there is this community/program/resource that exists for this niche group of people. It is very funny, but relatable, to see that she started to be interested in her field because she got introduced to garageband in 6th grade. Something that she said she learned from her early on career is something that I am working on learning: when to walk away from a situation/people when it is not helping you and is actively hindering you and what you want to do/learn. I have been lucky to have female mentors, some queer female mentors, and some queer non-female mentors in my field, all of whom made a major difference in my life and my confidence in my abilities. It makes me happy that she is using her experience to educate and mentor others.
