Honestly I have never looked at a list of award for various different types of pro tools or equipment. I have in the past only ever looked at review or awards for tools or equipment when I am looking to buy something new, or when I am trying to recommend an item for someone else. So to just sit and read about a bunch of different items was refreshing in a way since I got to just sit and read about the best item form a bunch of different types of tools and equipment within the world of construction or construction adjacent activities. Of all of these reviews/awards the one that really interested me was the pneumatic tools and nailer award. When I saw the award name I expected it to be an advanced pneumatic nailer or stapler of some kind, but instead the award was given to a battery power nail gun. Personally I have never seen or used a battery powered nail gun, so to read about one here is interesting. It make me really want to see it in action in person, and the review of it makes me want to buy one.

Some of these things I had no idea existed. I liked the Milwaukee Top Off Charger and Power Supply. I can see for general construction sites how having the ability to emergency charge a phone or laptop could be useful when outlets are not easily available or would cause tripping hazards. For theatre I think for theatre this asset is most useful for outdoor venues where it is not convenient to charge up items while working. On more than one occasion during a load-in I’ve seen laptops being pulled out to check files and dimensions and a versatile battery charger would be nice to have. A lot of these tools like the ladder level and sinksnake were cool to read about but I didn’t see any immediate added value to a theatre shop like ours. The steel toes at the end were a nice PPE category; I need new ones so maybe Wolverine is the way to go.
