My grandmother lives a few blocks from Lincoln Center theater, so I'm there at least once a week, and when I got wind of this decision that they selected Lear deBessonet as their next creative director, I was so excited for what this meant for the company. as it is considered one of Broadway's leading nonprofit theaters. The clear dedication that is shown from DeBessonet with this almost mission statement of combining community participation with high-quality plays, as seen by her work with Encores! Completely changes this organization for the better and makes it have a whole new feel. I find it so cool that while she still wants to honor the theaters past, She also wants to make a new theatrical experience that is different than just sitting on your as and watching Netflix but rather immersive and further entertaining. The ultimate vision for the theater is super exciting, and I hope these shows continue to push important boundaries needed for growing in a larger space.
