Microsoft AI Copilot: Make pivot tables, write Python code in Excel

Fast Company: Microsoft Excel is the de facto standard for a lot of corporate number crunching, but even some frequent users don’t know everything that’s possible to do in the spreadsheet program.

With Excel and Sheets in constant competition and the increased use of Goggles Gemini in sheets with features such as suggested formulas and autofill it is no surprise the Excell is beefing up its AI features to match. I personally have not actively sought out Copilot as a tool in my Excel activities but I have used AI to give me a hand with spreadsheets in the past thru using chat gpt to come up with CSV files or Gemini to fill in email addresses. Dut to G-Suits web of AI features that integrate with each other I think Excel will always be a step behind when it comes to AI data integration so having Copilot focus on Python and the unique features Excel has that Sheets lacks is a great way for Microsoft to stay ahead of the competition. I am excited to see what Microsoft continues to integrate into their AI as it develops and becomes more common practice in our world.
