Amusement Today: It’s a can’t miss new Halloween experience in the picturesque White Mountains. Happy Hauntings – New Hampshire’s Best New Way to Halloween – takes center stage at Story Land Theme Park starting this Saturday, September 28. The event is the park’s first-ever Halloween experience and will bring 10 all-new family-friendly ways to enjoy spooky season. The addition of Happy Hauntings will mark the park’s longest season ever and culminate the park’s 70th Celebration season in the biggest way possible.

I have such fond memories of Story Land as a child. I would go there all the time and my family held season passes. My favorite thing about Story Land was that it was so immersive with the style of buildings and live entertainment that they provided. As a kid, I also loved Halloween (I was a cat every year). It is cool to see that a place so close to my heart is starting a Halloween event. However, honestly, I was surprised to learn that they never had a Halloween event before. It feels like such a wide and commercial thing in the world of themed-entertainment, and it feels as though they are a little late to the party. But, this is so fun and I am upset I won’t be around to see it. I will let my parents and my little sister know to check it out!
The first time I went to a Halloween themed event at a Theme Park was at Kennywood in Pittsburgh. I hadn’t realized that theme parks continue to do things throughout the fall and winter months even with the rides not going. It was so much fun and based on this article it’s clear that Story Land would also be really fun. I like how each weekend there’s a new set of select activities to do at the park so that workers aren’t doing the exact same thing every weekend. However, I can see how the trick-or-treat trail and the hay maze were a must as well as the pumpkin patch. I like how all of them have a little bit of a Story Land twist to the activity so that there are characters involved in the activities too. The Happy Hauntings seems like a great new tradition for Story Land and a great way to start closing out their 70th season celebration.
