I have been extremely excited for this show ever since it was announced. As I was and have been in the process of figuring out where I fit as an autistic person I have looked towards different media platforms, only to find very little that represents me. Especially in theatre, which became a challenge when I wanted to direct a show that I felt was a good representation of what being autistic in this world can be like. I was thrilled to see a musical that is about such lovely things with actually good representation, rather than just settling for another Curious Incident. The clips that I have seen of the show sound fantastic and are very promising of a great show, and even if the show may not hit every mark, the fact that so many autistic actors and crew members are in the mainstreaming showing that they are more than capable of doing this job is such a big step on its own. Very proud of them for winning this award, and I wish the show the best of success on their run, and hope I will be able to see it soon.
