Pa. station upgrades set with new video walls, anchor desk tweaks

NewscastStudio: WNEP in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, has moved back into its old studio, which underwent some updates over late 2022 and early 2023. The core of the set remains largely the same — though the space has been updated with new duratrans, video wall technology and updates to the anchor desk.

This article was a bit random of an inclusion in the bunch of normal articles we tend to see featured on the blog, but it was a really nice insight into a different medium and entertainment and their adaptation of modern technology. I am from Carbon County, PA, which is a little bit south of Scranton, so this news channel is one that I am actually a little bit familiar with, because they actually cover some news in Carbon County. One of the things the article talked about that was especially interesting that I find a lot of people do not realize is that for this studio and many others, before moving to video screen usage, their meteorologists did not have the weather actually in front of them to view on a screen, because there was no screen. Now that they have a video screen, they can actually see the weather over just reading the teleprompter, which is pretty neat stuff.
