Meyer Sound PANTHER Dials It Up For Michael Bublé’s “Higher Tour”

ProSoundWeb: Michael Bublé’s ongoing “Higher Tour,” replete with a four-tier stage set to accommodate a full orchestra and backup singers (augmented on occasion by strings and a 10-piece choir) plus extensive lighting effects and four large-scale video screens, is once again being supported by a “dual hybrid” Meyer Sound reinforcement system approach.

Reading about the new sound systems being used for Michael Buble’s tour was super interesting to me. Before getting into lighting design, I worked on sound a lot, so I understand what it’s like to get a new piece of equipment. Working on sound is so incredibly time consuming and stressful, as sometimes it feels like the job is never done. For example, when I was a freshman, I worked on a production of Anything Goes, which involved 13 microphones, with only a few of them actually working the way they should’ve been. The next year, we ended up renting microphones from a separate business to substitute the ones that didn’t work correctly. Although this was such a small thing, it made my job so much easier, and overall made my experience working on sound for a production so much more enjoyable. Getting to work with equipment that makes a job 10x easier is always a very exciting experience.
