This article was a very interesting look at what goes into making a halftime show. One thing I never considered is that the set has to go up and come down within the time constraints of halftime, making load in and strike seem to me impossibly fast processes. For a set this large, that quick of a set up is a remarkable feat. This year’s set posed an even uniquer challenge; the all white set on a football field was a choice that I can’t imagine made any of the process easier. This year’s halftime show had mixed reviews, hailed for it;s celebration of hip hop, but criticized by it’s over-sanitation for family audiences. Regardless, the coordination it takes to create a set that satisfies the artistic vision of so many different artists, holds the attention of such a large audience, and logistically work on a football field as a halftime show is an impressive feat.
