Best Art Supplies in 2022: Strathmore, Staedtler, Prismacolor, & More
www.businessinsider.com: As someone who's been drawing since I could hold a crayon, I've been through my fair share of graphite pencils, sketchbooks, and paint sets. I've tried dozens of different brands over the years, and some are still my favorites.
I appreciate articles such as these. Business insider and wire cutter are great resources for doing research before you purchase things. This article did remind me just how expensive art supplies are, and doing research to ensure your spending your money on supplies that are worth the dollars and will last longer is beneficial. I also think about how the top tier art supplies are dominated by a few big brands. Just as tools have Milwaukee, Dewalt, and Makita which people first think of as the best tools, the art world has Strathmore, Staedlater, and Winsor & Newton. Some brands they mentioned were surprising, such as Da Vinci brushes which I had never heard of. This may be because I’m not really an art supply person but I found it interesting. I also noted that they were far less expensive than some of the other brush brands most are familiar with.
