I find this article interesting because good sound quality is extremely important in our world today. I sometimes forget how often sound is necessary for various organizational and corporate events regardless of the theatre industry. This system is an amazing concept because often the minimum at these events is good quality sound and sometimes you don’t have someone trained in sound engineering setting up these events. The “Handsfree Mode” mentioned in the article is also an interesting concept as we are all too familiar with hearing something on zoom when someone forgot to mute their microphone. This article is a demonstration of how the pandemic has allowed for technology to evolve, especially through needing to accommodate events in a hybrid format that is still meaningful to both in person and remote parties. I understand why this is becoming something the theatre industry is interested in because for smaller, low key productions with minimal crew, this is the perfect tool for having high quality audio.
