I had never even heard of a USB Microphone previous to this. Given the description and the comparison made with the XLR microphones, the USB microphones seem to be perfect to use in pre recorded material for theatre, let alone music production and podcast production. And the fact that they seem to be relatively cheap as compared to other kinds of microphones. These may also be very handy in sound fabrication when dealing with ambient noise such as birds chirping outside or the sound of an apartment with thin walls. The fact that they pick things up so well and directly transfer to a computer without having to condense any sound files will likely make mixing the sound much easier and make it much more clear and lifelike when listening to it. Now, I don’t know terribly much about sound design or fabrication, I would definitely ask some of my friends who do have that knowledge what they think about these before trying to use them in any future production.
