This is a very interesting launch for a new company, and I’m not sure how this will pan out. The fixture, the CLONE, is a tungsten light in the center and looks almost like an eye with metal framing. While very specific in its use, being a fixed color with a fixed framing, it’s advertised as a very easy to install fixture fitting most industry standards. They can also be linked together to make devices and bigger light fixtures out of multiple of them. I’ll be honest, I have no f**king idea what to make of this. It is advertised as a multi-use fixture, but the form of it doesn’t take well to concealing or using it out of designs that don’t specifically work to incorporate it. Even hidden and used for front light or other purposes, it still seems like there are many other lights that do that job both better and at a cheaper price. How common are tungsten bulbs now, especially compared to LED’s with much better flexibility and lower heat waste? I’m curious to see where this goes, but I’m very skeptical about it.
