I think that people often negate the importance of contracts and sometimes are not even aware of the importance of the unions. While people may have varying opinions on the topic of unions, society today leaves little room for neglecting contracts. This new contract for SAG AFTRA and TV Animation has clearly put a lot of thought into this new ratification. It lasts for three years; this is smart because it allows for change down the road and to see how these new regulations work out for the industry. It reallocated funds in a way that seems fair to many of its constituents and garnered the majority favor when it came down to a vote. As the article states, it is important to be flexible, especially as times change. I hope these new changes benefit as many people as possible and that if they do not, necessary changes will be voted on and instituted for the union.
