Robe Wants to Be A Millionaire!
LightSoundJournal.com: Quiz show “Who Wants to Be A Millionaire” has been a TV favourite – and sometimes talking point – for years. For the 2020 Israeli edition, broadcast on Channel 12, lighting designer Ofer Jacobi was asked by producers July August Production to light the show again, 20 years after the last time he’d done so, which was the first roll out in Israel.

I absolutely love the photos in this article. The inspiration of “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” definitely comes across in both the lighting and the projections. In my opinion, it also reminds me a lot of “Tron”. It is also really nice to see photos of consoles again, although the hand sanitizer in between them stressed me out slightly. A director I worked with had once spilled seltzer on a console, so I try to be hyper aware of liquids and consoles. At the same time, hand sanitizer is now a staple of our everyday life now. At least it means a return to work.
It is interesting as well because I have a lot of family in the area this article references. I know they want me to move there, but I have always shut down the idea. I did not think the entertainment industry was very strong there, but this article implies otherwise. Regardless, my immediate family is here and I am happy to stay.
I found it interesting that they preprogrammed a lot in advance. It is a great way to mitigate the exposure of Covid-19 by balancing working from home and in person to be safe while still returning to the industry.
