While I (unfortunately) do not qualify for the benefits discussed in this article, I think that it is really interesting to discuss this topic looking forward into the economic state of America. As someone who has worked as a freelancer in the past and is taking their first steps into the world of entertainment as a designer, the reality of working under this pay range is becoming more and more real. As we have seen through even the first month of this virus spreading through the US, shutting down performances and other forms of entertainment/production has created severe economic problems for a whole group of workers that often go unnoticed in that industry: the technical staff, who are already often compensated less. This bill in association with the coronavirus outbreak is something that I believe should be extended past when the mass self-quarantining ends so that freelancing designers and technicians are still receiving financial support as the industry rebuilds.
