I had absolutely no idea about the scope and scale of Rock Lititz. I knew Tait was headquartered there, but nothing else. This is a fascinating article about the history of the area and the companies that are a part of it now, and also how everything grew into the massive production scale that it is today. It’s so strange how the touring production capital of the world is in the middle of Amish country- there must be a lot of culture shock for everyone around, and everyone that comes into the Rock Lititz campus. It’s a brilliant idea though, to have a one stop shop for every facet of live entertainment production, in one self-sufficient ecosystem, where everyone can feed off of each other and collaborate and synergize to produce bigger and better productions. Telling this story through the people that are a major part of it is really effective in showing its history and all of the different companies and workflows that make up the production.
