Update on “The Parks” at Nuevo Vallarta
www.cirquefascination.com: The Parks project is of enormous magnitude. In total, there are four parks, which occupy an area three times larger than The Magic Kingdom. Something we have learned is that a park alone does not generate the synergy that several parks can have together to develop the entire market. We have hired the best park developers in the world, from China, from Serbia, from the United States. The parks are not developed for a hotel, they are made for the destination, as we did with Joyà together with the Cirque du Soleil, to enrich the Riviera Maya.

I didn't realize this was happening but it is really exciting. I loved the renderings of the theme park; it looks so relaxing. It is interesting to me the Cirque is trying to expand their market more and more. Whether it be this, or the mall in New Jersey I read about last week, it seems like Cirque is trying to be more than the touring and Vegas spectacle. I think it is a very good idea. They are pretty much creating a new home for them to play to. Another good thing about this is that the Mexican market has a lot of potential, but is hard to tap into because you cannot get a lot of gear locally. I thinkCirque would be a fantastic company to bring more live entertainment into Mexico because they have the resources to support their shows, regardless of location. I am curious though as to what their involvement with the park will be exactly. Whether they are just performing or more integrated into the site itself.
